Seabirds Skiathos opened their league campaign with a hard-earned 1–0 home victory over local rivals AO Skiathou B, securing three important points on the first matchday of the new season.
The decisive moment came early in the match. In the 5th minute, defender Polymerou spotted a gap in the AO Skiathou B defensive line and delivered a precise through-ball to Tsikounas, who remained composed and placed his finish into the bottom corner to give Seabirds Skiathos the lead.
From there, the match took on a more physical tone, with both sides competing aggressively in midfield. A number of yellow cards were issued as the referee sought to maintain control over a tense derby atmosphere.
Despite pressure from the visitors in the second half, Seabirds defended with discipline, maintaining a compact shape that allowed very few clear chances. Strong communication along the back line and confident goalkeeping ensured that the early advantage was preserved until the final whistle.
